Child and Family Well-Being Project
THE CHILD & FAMILY WELL-BEING
The Child and Family Well-Being Pilot Program aims to advance research and programs that support children’s social and emotional development in partnership with schools and communities. The first focus of this program is to develop, implement, and evaluate a mindfulness-based intervention program to promote well-being among children in school settings. Our approach engages teachers, parents, and children. The emphasis is placed on mindful awareness and attention, as well as related qualities of kindness and compassion.
Within CU Boulder, the project is a joint effort between the Department of Psychology and Neuroscience and the School of Education and aims to take an interdisciplinary approach that integrates clinical psychological intervention science, developmental and cognitive psychology, and learning sciences within a broader framework of design-based implementation research.
